To celebrate the signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in Whanganui in May 1840, we held the follow Kaupapa Kōrero seminar on May 31, 2022 on Te Pā Auroa, the Te Awa Tupua framework.
Te Pa Auroa, the Te Awa Tupua framework, was constructed deliberately to withstand the constant policy and legislative changes. This seminar will lead with the proposition that management of water and other resources in the Whanganui catchment has already occurred. It will discuss how any planned national reforms will have to fit into a Te Awa Tupua context, rather than the other way round.

Te Whawhaki Trust, a subsidiary of Ngā Tāngata Tiaki, is focused on advancing the wellbeing of Whanganui whānau and hapū through cultural and social benefits.
As a charitable trust comprising up to five Trustees, Te Whawhaki will promote the environmental, education, economic, social, and cultural advancement, and overall well-being of Whanganui Iwi.
Held at Pūtiki Marae over two days in March, He Waka Pakoko - Pathway to 2040 provided an opportunity for our uri to be inwards facing and future focused.
